5 Things Children Need on the First Day of School

If you don’t have a list of school supplies from the teacher, there are five things that you should always send your child to school with.
Modern Times
Back to school shopping is always frustrating, as children always want the newest and coolest school supplies on the market no matter the cost.

Aside from the costly twisty colored pencils you will have to buy for your child, there are five necessities that your child should always have on their first day of school.

A Backpack

Some people call it a backpack and others call it a bookbag, whatever you call it, kids backpacks are the most essential item that a child needs for school.

There are so many types of backpacks to choose from, but your best bet is to find something your child will want to wear all year long and is strong enough to last them that long.

Binders

Binders are important, especially when you get to middle school. Not everyone is equipped with the strength to carry 3 binders at once, so it is important to have binders that can hold papers for 2-3 subjects.

Durability is the key with binders, and they must be able to withstand the wear-and-tear of a backpack and your child’s room.

Notebooks

Notebooks might be the easiest thing to buy for your child. Notebooks can also be used for more than one subject.

Having a notebook and being organized to write down notes during class is essential for your child’s ability to soar through their school year with ease.

Pens and Pencils

There are so many different types of pens and pencils out there, it can be easy to get lost in what to buy. There are popular brands that work well and unpopular brands that also do a great job.

Either way, ensure that your child has blue, black and at least one red pen for corrections for the school year.

A Lunch Box

Lunch boxes might be more of an essential need for younger children, but they can be fun for older children, as well.

Encourage your child to bring a lunch and show off their favorite characters or even a lunch box with a unique design.
Going school shopping is never an easy task, and sometimes, even though you may feel like you’ve got everything covered, there might be things that you’ve missed.

Do the best you can and ensure that your child has these five basic things on their first day so that they can gear themselves up for the new school year!
