Hooded bath towels are one of the convenient baby products. The pattern is very simple with a hood stitched at the upper side of the towel, which is designed for drying the head portion. The style is similar to other hooded shirts or jackets.

Procedure

The things that you require are a large bath towel (size with respect to the toddler), a smaller hand towel (for the hood), (Note: Both the colors can be same) scissors, large straight pins, sewing machine (or needle and thread), and tape. You can make a different design by selecting complementary colors.

First of all, lay the bath towel on a large table or a flat surface and smoothen out. Then, lay the hand towel adjacent to its longer side. If there are decorations on the fabric, lay them with the face down. Align the hand towel properly so that it comes down to the center of the bath towel edge.

After careful adjustment, secure the edges with straight pins so that they do not move while sewing or stitching. Following this, begin sewing with the machine. If you are using needle and thread, stitch the edges together. Whatever be the stitching option, run two or three times at this portion for better securing.

The next step is folding both the fabrics together along the central line. Make sure that the folding is done in such a way that you are viewing the inner side of the towel.

Retaining the folded shape, sew the top seams of the hand towel together to make a hood pattern; you can run two times to avoid tearing. Turn the fabric to the outside, and check the design and the seams.
