Stay-At-Home Mom Schedule

Mothers who choose to stay at home to look after their kids and take care of household chores have a more challenging job than a corporate one. Read this post to tackle certain problems with a fixed agenda.
Raising kids is the most difficult job on Earth, probably more difficult than any white collar job. Fortunately, as opposed to the earlier times, housewives or stay-at-home moms as we call today, have earned the respect that the work they do is indeed tough.
Of course, sometimes it really gets hard to manage with umpteen things to do on hand. Every day is a new challenge, so wouldn't it be tad easy if you had a strict, predecided schedule? Let's get to how to go about it.
The following is a generic schedule, but it might vary according to the additional responsibilities, preferences and priorities of respective mothers. For example, a schedule for mom with toddlers will be slightly different as most of the time is spent in taking care of the child. Apart from this there are certain things that moms must remember while planning a proper agenda.

Typical Schedule

  • 7:30am-9:00am
    Wake up and do your exercises or go to the gym. Get ready for the day and say your prayers. Read the Bible for 20 to 30 minutes to begin your day with peace of mind.
  • 9:00am - 10:00am
    Prepare the breakfast.
  • 10:00am - 10:30am
    Get the kids ready for school or for the day.
  • 10:30am - 12:30pm
    Free time for moms, can do anything like cleaning the house, playing with the kids, run errand or any extra work.
  • 12:30pm - 1:00pm
    It is lunch time! Get ready with the food for the kids.
  • 12:30pm - 2:00pm
    Playtime and home school for preschooler.
  • 2:00pm - 4:00pm
    Small nap time for the kids.
  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm
    Do any recreational activity.
  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm
    Cook dinner.
  • 6:00pm-7:00pm
    Relish the food with your family.
  • 7:00pm - 7:30pm
    Clean the kitchen.
  • 7:30pm - 8:00pm
    Your time, free time. Can go for a walk, remember God or make preparation for the next day.
  • 8:00pm - 8:30pm
    Get your kids ready for bed. Give bed snack.
  • 8:30pm - 9:00pm
    Quite time for the kids because it is bed time.
  • 9:00pm - 11:00pm
    Spend time with your spouse and or watch T.V. together.

Things to Remember

  • Try to be flexible.
  • Do not tax yourself too much.
  • Focus on your priorities.
  • Take out time for yourself.
  • Do not force anything on yourself.
  • Discuss your schedule with your husband.
  • Do not forget to designate a beginning and an end to your day.
  • Try to accomplish the bigger tasks as early as possible, so that you do not waste your whole day on one work.
  • Schedule an outing so that you don't find your job to be very boring. Always use a calendar to organize a day.
  • Try to keep clutter to the minimum in order to avoid extra effort to clean them.
  • Go for an outing on weekends to get a change from the daily schedule. Take out time just for yourself everyday.
If you keep these points in mind while sketching your schedule, you will surely make your life more productive and simple to handle. One important thing - don't let your mind enter into the battle of "stay-at-home moms vs. working moms" debate and be proud of what you are doing and you will find it to be an extremely rewarding experience.
